Zeiler Insurance Services, Inc. is a family-owned, independent insurance agency celebrating its 100th anniversary just as the newest generation is entering the business.
“For a long time, I was the only producer in the agency,” says the President, Dan Zeiler - 54, a born-and-bred Chicagoan. “I finally had time to look around and realize how to best fulfill the responsibility to my staff and now to my children - to set them up on a path to be successful and give them the right tools,” Zeiler says. “The responsibility is on my shoulders to move the agency forward.”
Zeiler Insurance Services, Inc. has prospered through multiple generations. In 1915, Dan Zeiler’s great-grandfather founded the business as R.J. Zeiler Sons, opening a storefront in downtown Chicago. Ownership passed to his two sons, who passed it to their children, one of whom was Dan Zeiler’s father. In 2005, Dan bought the business from his dad and the Zeiler cousins.
Today Dan’s children, Karli and Lucas Zeiler are licensed producers learning the insurance ropes from their dad while contributing fresh ideas and contemporary communication savvy to help propel their agency into its next century. Their brother, Mitchell, is a college undergrad at Western Michigan University who’s raring to join the family firm this August.
Zeiler Insurance Services, Inc. has products for both Personal and Commercial Lines along with Life and Health Insurance. Zeiler Insurance Services, Inc. now has three office locations; Chicago, Alsip and Gurnee, with headquarters in Alsip. They market mostly in the Chicago metro area and other parts of Illinois. It also does business in a dozen other states, mostly by virtue of referrals and extension of client needs.
“We are growing now more than ever with the collaborative efforts of not only our family, but the rest of our team at Zeiler Insurance Services, Inc. as well. We feel we have the social responsibility to educate and inform consumers regarding their insurance needs. This comes from a genuine heart, because we treat every client as if they are family, as we would want our family treated the same way - with their best interest in mind and protection to the fullest,” says Karli Zeiler.
